A Pakistani doctor abducted by kidnappers in Nigeria has been released

A statement issued by the Foreign Office said that Dr. Abuzar Muhammad Afzal, a Pakistani citizen abducted by the kidnappers in Nigeria, has been released from the kidnappers in Nigeria. The Foreign Ministry said it was grateful to the Nigerian government and people for making Dr Abuzar’s release possible.

According to the Foreign Ministry, Dr. Bozar thanked the governments of Pakistan and Nigeria, as well as all those who negotiated for his release and sought his release.

The Foreign Ministry has also thanked the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the Foreign Minister and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs for the release of Dr. Abuzar, a Pakistani man who had been held hostage in Nigeria for three months.

Dr. Abuzar Muhammad Afzal was working in a shipping company in Nigeria, on March 28, 2022, he was taken hostage along with dozens of passengers.

Thirteen hostages were released by the kidnappers a month ago, while Dr Abu Dharr is the only foreigner among the seven hostages released last night.

According to the Foreign Ministry, Dr. Abu Dharr has been issued travel documents by the Pakistan High Commission in Abuja. He will leave Nigeria for Pakistan tonight.
