A soldier was martyred in a blast in South Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while a terrorist was targeted during an operation in North Waziristan.

According to a statement issued by Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR), a convoy of Pakistan Army was hit by an IED in Makin area of ​​South Waziristan.

The statement said that 39-year-old Hawaldar Muhammad Sanwar from Jhelum district of Punjab was martyred in the blast.

In this regard, it was informed that action is being taken in the area so that if any terrorist is present in the area, it should be eradicated.

Terrorists killed in North Waziristan

A statement issued by ISR said that on May 17, 2022, security forces in Mirali area of ​​North Waziristan district carried out an operation on the basis of a tip-off.

The statement said that a terrorist, identified as Muhammad Altaf, was killed during the exchange of fire.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the slain terrorist, ISPR said.

The statement said that the terrorist killed during the operation was involved in terrorist activities against the security forces.
