ACC has announced the transfer of Asia Cup 2022

Asian Cricket Council has announced the transfer of Asia Cup 2022. The Asia Cup will now be played in the United Arab Emirates instead of Sri Lanka after the ACC announced the transfer of the Asia Cup.

Sri Lanka refused to host the Asia Cup 2022 due to the ongoing economic and political crisis in the country, after which the president of the Indian Cricket Board, Saru Ganguly, had already announced that this year’s scheduled tournament would be played in the United Arab Emirates. However, the host will be in the hands of Sri Lanka.

According to the ACC, a detailed discussion was held regarding the current situation in Sri Lanka after which a unanimous decision was taken to change the venue. President of Sri Lanka Cricket Shami Silva says that we stand by the decision of ACC.

On the other hand, Emirates Cricket Board Chairman Khalid Al-Zarooni said, “We are happy with the UAE as the venue for the Asia Cup, we have good infrastructure and we are looking forward to welcoming the teams.”

It should be remembered that the Asia Cup will be played from August 27 to September 11 this year and this tournament will be held in T20 format.
