All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association

The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) said that cement consumption in May fell by 15.85 per cent to 3.32 million tonnes.

According to the association, domestic consumption of cement declined by 5% to 3.15 million tonnes in May and cement exports stood at 747,000 metric tonnes.

According to the Manufacturers Association, the consumption of cement in the first 11 months of the financial year was 47.62 million tons and the local consumption of cement in the first 11 months was 43.45 million tons.

According to the Manufacturers Association, domestic consumption in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year was 1.83 percent lower than in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, while cement exports in the first 11 months fell by 43 percent to 4.9 million metric tons.

A spokesman for the APCMA said there was concern over the country’s precarious situation, with the rupee depreciating and rising energy prices affecting the industry.

The spokesman demanded that the government ensure political stability in the country and reduce industry concerns, duties and tax rates in next year’s budget.
