Another piece of bad news for power consumers. The price of electricity is likely to increase by Rs 7.96 per unit.
Central Power Purchasing Company has filed an application for monthly fuel price adjustment in May. NEPRA will hear the petition on June 27.
According to the CCPA, 8.80% of electricity was generated from furnace oil in May. Furnace oil generated electricity at Rs 33.67 per unit. 22.89% electricity was generated from 10% imported LNG from local gas.
In May, 24.50% of electricity was generated from water. The reference cost for May was fixed at Rs 5.93 per unit.
