Another shock to the people of the government, a surprising increase in electricity prices

Bad news for power consumers, an increase of Rs7.90 per unit was approved. The increase is in line with the May monthly fuel adjustment.

The public hearing regarding the May monthly fuel charges adjustment of Discus was completed at the NEPRA headquarters. The public hearing was presided over by the Chairman NEPRA, Mr. Engineer Tauseef H. Farooqi.

NEPRA members, Engineer Rafiq Ahmed Sheikh and Engineer Maqsood Anwar Khan were also present in the hearing.

According to the NEPRA statement, CPPAG had submitted an application for an increase of Rs. 7, 96 paise per unit in the case of FCA. CA customers were charged Rs 3.99 per unit for 1 month only.

The May FCA will charge Rs 3.91 per unit more in July than in April. It will also be applicable for 1 month only. It will be applicable to all Discus customers except Lifeline customers. Will not apply to electric consumers either, the authority will issue its detailed decision after further scrutiny of the data.
