The Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected appeals against the death sentence of those convicted of sharing blasphemous material.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has upheld the lower court’s decision on the publication of blasphemous material on social media by a division bench of Rawalpindi and dismissed the appeals against the death sentence.
Qaiser Ayub and Amon Ayub, two convicts of blasphemy on social media, were sentenced to death by a lower court, on which the accused challenged the verdict.
A division bench of Lahore High Court Rawalpindi comprising Justice Raja Shahid Mehmood Abbasi and Justice Muhammad Tariq Nadeem delivered the verdict against the culprits.
It should be noted that case number 105/11 dated June 9, 2011 was registered in City Talagang police station for publishing blasphemous material on social media.
