Approval of government to provide ghee at Rs. 300 per kg at utility stores

The Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) has approved to provide ghee at utility stores at Rs. 300 per kg.

A meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Muftah Ismail in which federal ministers, secretaries and other senior officials participated.

The meeting also approved extension of relief package for Prime Minister’s Utility Stores till June 30.

The ECC approved a supplementary grant of Rs 3.44 billion for utility stores and payment of Rs 1.58 billion of 17% sales tax on lease of four aircraft. These aircraft have been acquired on a lease of Rs 9.388 billion in view of the Hajj operation.

The ECC meeting also approved a plan to provide additional funds of Rs. 4 billion for the construction of Gilgit-Shandor Highway and to restructure the electricity tariff.

The meeting also approved a supplementary grant of Rs 25.61 billion to oil marketing companies to pay the price difference. Besides, a supplementary grant of Rs. 535.8 million was also approved for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
