Babar Azam explained the reasons for the defeat in the second test

National team captain Babar Azam says that falling wickets one after another brings pressure and the same happened in the second Test against Sri Lanka.

Babar Azam talked about the situation of the match in the post match press conference and said that the pitch was not different in the beginning this morning, the wicket helped the spinners after light rain, the pitch was not much of a problem, our partnership was not the same. It should look like it.

He said that in Test cricket we should bat with patience which was not seen in our batting, one after another wicket fell pressure on me but the way Jayasuriya bowled he should be given credit.

He praised the Sri Lankan bowler and added that Prabhat Jayasuriya bowls with great patience and he has experience, he bowls consistently on a line which is important for him.

The captain of the national team said that if we have chased a good target in the past, it gives us confidence. We came into this match with the same confidence. Didn’t play along.

He said that he is giving good performance in different conditions and is improving, the conditions in Sri Lanka were not easy but here he has played well and also played bad.

The national captain said that Nauman Ali is a very experienced bowler, bowls consistently, along with him we have Yasir Shah and other young bowlers are also coming in a lot, soon you will get to see new faces.

Talking about the future strategy, Babar Azam said that now our focus will be on the ODI series against the Netherlands, now we have a little time to prepare for this series, we will try to do ODI and ODI series in a short time. Adapt yourself to T20, there is more cricket happening so you have to adapt to every format quickly.

He added that everyone has their own mind set, the more you play cricket the more you enjoy it, we are playing with cricket planning and everyone is enjoying it.

Talking about T20 World Cup, Babar Azam said that I go series to series, now there is a lot of time in T20 World Cup so that is not in mind.

Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan in the second and final Test to level the series at one apiece. Chasing the 508-run target set by Sri Lanka, Pakistan’s batting line-up flopped badly and none other than Babar Azam. The batsman could not face the Lincoln bowlers, the entire team was dismissed for 261 runs.
