The Punjab government has announced a complete ban on meetings in Greater Iqbal Park, Lahore. Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz has approved a ban on meetings in Greater Iqbal Park. Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz said that it was not appropriate to use the historical park for meetings.
Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz also rejected the proposal to levy admission fee in Greater Iqbal and said that it is a park for the poor and no admission fee will be levied under any circumstances.
Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz expressed frustration over non-timely purchase of plant seeds in the previous period. The Punjab Chief Minister also ordered an inquiry into the non-purchase of seeds in time. Maza Shabhaz directed that the work of planting trees, plants and grass on vacant plots should be started soon and also by identifying vacant plots in South Punjab. A plan should be drawn up for planting trees.
The Punjab Chief Minister was briefed that the PTI meeting destroyed plants and grass in Greater Iqbal Park while the meeting caused a loss of about Rs 5 million to the park.
