Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the federal government wants to solve the problems of Balochistan. Development is meaningless without solving the problems of Gwadar.
Addressing a function on the occasion of his visit to Gwadar, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that this was his second visit to Gwadar in a month and it was our duty to fulfill the promises made by the government.
“I assure you that the problems of Gwadar will be solved and development is meaningless without solving the problems,” he said. He wished that the people of Gwadar and Balochistan would benefit from the projects and solve the problems of the local people.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the development of Gwadar is the development of Balochistan and the federal government wants to solve the problems of Balochistan. It is the duty of the rulers to alleviate the problems and sufferings of the people of Balochistan.
He said that engines for boats would be provided to the fishermen of Gwadar and after the distribution of engines, the company would also be responsible for maintenance. The distribution of 2,000 boat engines will be on merit basis. The people of Gwadar are longing for electricity but we have delayed for years and the question is why the project was delayed? However, a power deal has been reached with Iran and will be presented to the cabinet on Tuesday.
Announcing the allotment of 200 acres of land for setting up a residential colony for fishermen in Gwadar, the Prime Minister said that the fishermen had pointed out the problems which would be resolved on priority basis.
