Efforts are being made to further increase power generation in next 2 to 3 weeks: Khurram Dastgir

Federal Minister for Energy Khurram Dastgir has said that power shortfall in the country is close to 4000 MW, power generation in the country is 22000 MW while demand is 26000 MW.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said that uninterrupted power supply to the industrial sector was continuing and efforts were being made to further increase power generation in the next two to three weeks. Yes, the shortage of coal has been met.

Federal Minister for Energy Khurram Dastgir, who belongs to PML-N, said that with refueling, K2 will generate 1100 MW of electricity at its full capacity. Was to be completed in February 2022, the Krut hydropower plant is being activated.

Khurram Dastgir said that load shedding will be significantly reduced next month. Hydel power generation is low due to low inflow of water. Demand for power has increased due to severe weather. MW of electricity will be available.
