Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto expressed his desire to strengthen bilateral relations with Iran

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed his desire to further strengthen bilateral relations with Iran.

Talking to Iranian President Ayatollah Ibrahim Raeesi in Tehran, he said that relations between the two countries are deep, historical, shared beliefs, culture and heritage.

The Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of regular exchanges in the areas of regional connectivity, trade for goods, activation of border markets, provision of facilities to Pakistani visitors to Iran, and enhancing cooperation in economic and energy fields.

He also raised the issue of release and extradition of Pakistani prisoners in Iranian jails. Ibrahim Raeesi said that Iran attaches great importance to its economic and trade relations with Pakistan in which there are ample opportunities for development.
