Former Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene has termed former national cricket team fast bowler Wasim Akram as the most difficult bowler of his career.
Talking to the International Cricket Council (ICC) digital show, the former Sri Lankan captain said that he considered Pakistani pacer Wasim Akram the most difficult bowler of his career, he was always one step ahead.
The former Sri Lankan captain admitted that when I started my career, Wasim Akram was at the height of his fame. No batsman had an answer to his bowling. Wasim Akram’s action was capable of defeating the Beaters at any time.
Mahela Jayawardene said that I scored more than 26,000 runs at the international level but it was always difficult to play against Wasim Akram because he used to swing the ball on both sides and that was his quality.
