Government decides to continue subsidy on flour sugar rice and

The Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) has approved a subsidy under the Prime Minister’s Relief Package.

A meeting of the Economic Co-ordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Muftah Ismail in which approval was also given to import 3 million tonnes of wheat to meet the food needs of the country.

It was decided in the meeting that subsidy on flour, sugar, rice and pulses would be continued at utility stores while a subsidy of Rs 100 per kg would be given on the price of ghee.

The Finance Ministry will also clear the arrears under the Prime Minister’s Relief Package. According to the country’s requirements, 200,000 metric tons of fertilizer was allowed to be imported from China.

The ECC approved tax and duty exemptions on all Saudi Fund for Development portfolios.
