It should be noted that yesterday PML-N candidate Hamza Shehbaz was re-elected as the Chief Minister of Punjab while Parvez Elahi faced defeat again. Voting was held in the Punjab Assembly for the election of the Chief Minister of Punjab, in which Hamza Shehbaz got the support of the majority.

The meeting of the Punjab Assembly for the election of the Chief Minister of Punjab started yesterday at 7:00 p.m. with a delay of about three and a half hours, after which Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari started the voting process.

According to the voting results, PTI’s candidate Pervaiz Elahi got 186 votes while PML-N’s Hamza Shehbaz got 179 votes.

However, after the voting process was completed, Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari read out the letter of Q-League chief Chaudhry Shujaat, in which he instructed the Q-League members to vote for Hamza Shahbaz.

The Deputy Speaker said that according to this letter, in the light of the decision of the Supreme Court, all the votes cast by the Q-League are rejected and I announce that Hamza Shahbaz has been elected as the Chief Minister of Punjab after 10 votes have been cast. .
