Five years have passed since the national cricket team won the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy.
June 18, 2017 is the historic day when Pakistan made history by defeating traditional rival India in the Champions Trophy. The highlight of the match was Sarfraz’s leadership and Fakhr Zaman’s unbeaten century.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a video based on the memorable moments and memories of the winning captain Sarfraz Ahmed on the social networking site Twitter. In which former captain Sarfraz Ahmed said that winning the Champions Trophy is a memorable moment for us which we will never forget.
He said that all the players gave exceptional performances but Fakhruzzaman’s century and Mohammad Amir’s spell will always be remembered as such excellent bowling is rarely seen.
Sarfraz Ahmed praised former head coach Mickey Arthur and said that he took all the cricketers with him and we entered the field against India in the final with more confidence than in the first match and the team won.
Sarfraz Ahmed said that the only thing that was discussed in the team meeting was to play with a positive mind and a strong combination for success. Azhar Ali played his role as a senior player.
The former captain said that in the final of the Champions Trophy, the entire team lost against the traditional rival and Allah honored Pakistan.
