TV and digital media rights for the next 5 years of the Indian Premier League (IPL) were acquired by two separate broadcasters.
According to Indian media reports, the media rights of 410 matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between 2023 and 2027 have been sold for about 400 billion 75 crore Indian rupees.
According to the report, 107 million 50 million Indian rupees per match, which is equivalent to 278 million Pakistani rupees.
The 5-year TV broadcasting rights for the IPL were sold for Rs 235.75 billion, but the name of the company was not disclosed, while the digital rights were given to Viacom for Rs 205 billion. Reports said that Viacom, Disney Star, Sony and Zee TV had participated in the 7-hour long bidding for the IPL.
On the other hand, TV and digital rights for overseas including IPL packages C and D have not been finalized yet. It should be noted that the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) is expected to earn about Rs 500 billion from IPL media rights.
