Judicial commission meeting for appointment of judges; All the names nominated by the Chief Justice were rejected by majority vote

All the names nominated by the Chief Justice in the Judicial Commission meeting for the appointment of judges in the Supreme Court were rejected by majority opinion.

A meeting of the Judicial Commission was held in the Supreme Court under the chairmanship of the Chief Justice of Pakistan in which no judge could be approved to be brought to the Supreme Court and the Judicial Commission rejected all the names under consideration by majority vote.

According to the sources, there were 5 votes against the judges nominated by the Chief Justice, and the meeting was terminated without saying anything. Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, Justice Tariq Masood, Attorney General, Federal Law Minister and Member Akhtar Hussain voted against.

It should be noted that the names of 5 judges were considered in the Judicial Commission meeting headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan.

In this regard, it was informed that the judicial commission meeting included the consideration of making Lahore High Court judge Justice Shahid Waheed a judge of the Supreme Court. Peshawar High Court Judge Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan was also considered for making the Supreme Court

Apart from this, 3 judges from Sindh High Court, Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Shafi Siddique, Justice Nimatullah were considered to be judges of the Supreme Court. There are currently 4 vacancies in the Supreme Court.
