The PDMA has warned of landslides in Murree and floods in various cities of Punjab in view of heavy rains. Rains are likely to inundate low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore.
According to the PDMA spokesperson, monsoon winds are entering the country with intensity from today due to which there is a possibility of rain in different parts of Punjab from today to July 12, including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Rain is also expected in Faisalabad and Lahore divisions.
According to the PDMA, the low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore are likely to be inundated due to rains today and tomorrow, while torrential rains are also expected to flood the canals of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala divisions.
A spokesman for the PDMA said that there was a risk of landslides in Murree due to rains, so passengers and tourists should be careful, bathe in rivers and canals, and avoid parking in low-lying areas.
