Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has met Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), in which the political situation in the country and future strategy were discussed.
According to sources, federal budget, development projects, legislation and other issues were also discussed during the meeting.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister also congratulated Maulana Fazlur Rehman on performing Umrah.
It may be recalled that yesterday Maulana Fazlur Rehman had submitted suggestions to the government regarding controlling inflation.
PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had suggested that federal, provincial ministers, advisers, aides and government officials would have to reduce their benefits by 50 per cent and bureaucrats above grade 19 would also get 50 per cent. The percentage has to be reduced.
He said that the present situation was the result of wrong decisions of the previous government, therefore every section of thought including judges, generals and standing committees of the Senate would have to make sacrifices.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the burden of inflation has been placed on the people and now the government has to fulfill its responsibility and tough decisions have to be taken to save the country from bankruptcy.
