Mobile phone service shut down to prevent long march

The government has decided to partially shut down mobile phone service across Punjab to stop the PTI’s long march.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will announce a long march towards Islamabad on May 25, to which all routes from Lahore to Islamabad have been sealed off.

Party sources said that in view of PTI’s long march, it has been decided to partially shut down mobile phone service in Punjab while approval has been given to shut down mobile phone service in 350 places across the province. ۔

Law enforcement agencies briefed the Punjab Chief Minister about the closure of mobile phone service, on which Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz approved the closure of mobile phone service at 20 places in Lahore and 350 places in Punjab.

Sources said that section 144 has been implemented in Islamabad, Punjab and Sindh to stop PTI’s long march and all routes from Lahore to the federal capital Islamabad have been sealed.

According to party sources, after the approval of the Chief Minister, the proposal will be sent to the Punjab Home Department, after which the Punjab Home Department will send advice to the MOI to send instructions to the PTA for implementation.
