Senate session Opposition besieged the chairman’s dice to protest against inflation. Leader of the Opposition Shehzad Waseem said that they had come to pay Rs. 70 for petrol and Rs. 210 per liter.

He said that in the previous government electricity used to run in wires but this government has paid the electricity bills.
Opposition groups called for a boycott of the Senate, protesting against the recent rise in petrol prices and rising prices.
PTI members also protested on the seat of Quaid-e-Awan. Opposition members chanted slogans against the government. The chairman of the senate ordered Sergeant at Arms to sideline the opposition members and said that he would suspend the members.
Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar said that if the House is to be made a meeting place then our language is also used and now it will teach us how to run the country’s economy. You have put the shackles of IMF around our necks.
He said that the opposition should not teach us but you were the one who drowned the economy. Instead of chanting political slogans, talk of solution and move beyond fabrications and move forward seriously.
Azam Nazir Tarar said that the issues of loans and defaults have been going on for years and the prices of petroleum products have not been hidden from anyone.
Opposition protests against giving mic to Minister of State for Finance Ayesha Ghous Pasha. Ayesha Ghous Pasha said that there was talk yesterday that the government should take tough decisions and they were saying that they cannot run without IMF but now the angle of 180 degrees has changed.
He said that the opposition had changed its stance in one day and they were doing politics on the economy.
Senator Shaukat Tareen said that due to the economy that the PTI government got, it went to the IMF and we also raised objections to the demands of the IMF.
He said that the present government has dropped the bomb by increasing the price of petrol while despite going to IMF we made good decisions. The price of electricity was also increased by 47% at night.
An adjournment motion was filed in the Senate on the rise in prices of petroleum products. Senator Kamil Ali Agha said that increase in prices of petroleum products is a painful step of the government and it has been proved that it has come from external conspiracy.
He said that the previous government had provided facilities to the people and Shaukat Tareen had given a subsidy of over Rs. 400 billion. Two atomic bombs were hurled at the people at night. One was expensive electricity and the other was petrol prices.
Senator Kamil Ali Agha said that Muftah Ismail does not feel sorry for children as a chocolate worth Rs. 5 costs Rs. 20. The factory owner has been appointed Finance Minister and Ishaq Dar is sitting outside.
He said that a conspiracy was being hatched against Don Lex and they had come to turn the people against the state. Muftah Ismail said the price of ghee and oil would have to go up further.
