PM calls on UAE, Qatari leadership, pledges to boost bilateral ties

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif telephoned the leadership of the United Arab Emirates and Qatar and called for enhancing political and economic ties with the two states.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister telephoned the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and congratulated him on Eid-ul-Adha. The Prime Minister also wished the people of the United Arab Emirates continued development and prosperity.

Reiterating the fraternal relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates in the talks held on Friday, the two leaders reiterated their mutual commitment to further expand and diversify the special bilateral relations.

The President of the United Arab Emirates responded to the congratulations of the Prime Minister and wished the people of Pakistan a happy Eid.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also invited the UAE President to visit Pakistan which was accepted by Sheikh Muhammad Band Zaid.

The UAE is Pakistan’s largest trading partner and a major source of investment in the Middle East.

Later, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tameen bin Hamad Al Thani and congratulated him on Eid-ul-Adha. The Prime Minister also expressed good wishes for the people of Qatar.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Qatari Emir responded with congratulations and best wishes to the people of Pakistan.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction over the excellent bilateral relations and pledged to continue the strong political and economic cooperation between the two countries, maintaining close ties and working together on all issues of common interest. Agreed

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also prayed for the repayment of the country’s debts which are said to be the root cause of all the economic crises facing the nation.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister congratulated the pilgrims on the occasion of Hajj and prayed for the Muslim world and Pakistan.

In his message, Shahbaz Sharif also appealed to the pilgrims to offer special prayers for humanity and end of suffering. He also prayed for the liberation of Palestine and Occupied Kashmir and the protection of the oppressed people there.

The Prime Minister also appealed to the nation to offer special prayers for the martyrs.

Also on Friday, Prime Minister Shahbaz appointed two economists from the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as his coordinators for the economy and energy and industry and trade.

According to two notifications issued to the media by the Prime Minister’s Office, Rana Ehsan Afzal Khan has been appointed as the Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Industry and Commerce while Bilal Azhar Kayani has been appointed as the new Coordinator for Economics and Energy. Will do
