PP 7 PTI candidate in Rawalpindi refuses to accept results, requests for recount

The Punjab Assembly Constituency PP-7 Returning Officer in Rawalpindi summoned all the candidates on July 19 on the request for recount.

PP 7 According to unofficial results of all 260 polling stations in Rawalpindi, Raja Sagheer Ahmed of the League (N) won with 68,906 votes while Muhammad Shabbir Awan of Tehreek-e-Insaf got 68,857 votes, thus winning by 49 votes. Defeated.

The PTI candidate refused to accept the results and filed a recount petition.

In this regard, PP-7 Returning Officer Rai Sultan Bhatti said that PTI candidate Colonel (Rtd) Shabbir Awan has applied for recount.

The RO said that the decision on the recount request will be taken after consultation with all the candidates and all the candidates must be involved in the recount decision.

The spokesperson of the Election Commission says that the Returning Officer PP7 Rawalpindi has received the recount request of the PTI candidate, the Returning Officer has called all the candidates of the constituency to the camp office at 11:30 tomorrow.
