PTI members took oath on 5 reserved seats in Punjab Assembly
PTI members took oath on 3 reserved seats for women and 2 reserved seats for minorities in the Punjab Assembly. Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi administered oath to the members on five reserved seats.
Batool Zain, Saira Raza and Fauzia Abbas took oath in the three reserved seats for women. Habakkuk Rafiq and Samuel Jacob were sworn in to two reserved minority seats.
After taking oath on five reserved seats in the Punjab Assembly, the number of PTI and its allies in the Punjab Assembly rose to 173.
The Election Commission had yesterday issued notifications for five reserved seats of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) following the decision of the Lahore High Court.
It should be noted that 25 PTI members who deviated from their party’s policy by voting for Hamza Shahbaz in the Punjab Assembly were de-seated. This included 5 members who became MPAs in the reserved seats.
