Rising electricity prices

Electricity became expensive by Rs 3.99 per unit. NEPRA has issued a notification. The increase in electricity price was made in the context of April’s monthly fuel charges adjustment.

According to NEPRA officials, the FCA for April this month will be charged Rs 13 paise more than March. CPPAG had requested an increase of Rs 4 5 paise per unit.

The price hike will not apply to lifeline customers. The fuel price adjustment will not apply to K Electric customers either. The authority had held a public hearing on May 31 at FCA.
