Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has invited his Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to visit Moscow at a time when Islamabad is trying to maintain a fine balance in its relations between the US and Russia.
Sergei Lavrov made the invitation during his brief informal interaction with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari during the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Tashkent on Friday.
A bilateral meeting was scheduled between the two foreign ministers, but the meeting was canceled due to the late arrival of the Russian foreign minister in Tashkent. The sources rejected these reports and said that there is no tension between Pakistan and Russia and neither the Russian Foreign Minister refused to meet Bilawal.
Bilawal met the foreign ministers of all SCO member countries except Russia and India.
