National cricket team’s fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been ruled out of the second Test of the series against Sri Lanka due to a minor knee injury.
National team fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi played an important role in the first victory of the visiting team by taking 4 wickets in the first innings of the first match of the series played in Galle. In this regard, the statement issued by the authorities has said that Shaheen Afridi will not be able to play the second Test match starting in Galle on July 24 due to an injury to his knee on the fourth day of the first Test.
The statement added that the fast bowler will remain with the Test team in Sri Lanka where his recovery from the injury will continue under the supervision of the team’s medical staff.
22-year-old Shaheen Shah Afridi has taken 99 wickets in 25 Test matches since making his cricket debut in 2018.
