Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi has praised Babar Azam’s brilliant batting in the first Test match against Sri Lanka.
While issuing a statement on social media, Shahid Afridi said that Babar Azam once again proved that he is a world class batsman, Babar batted well under pressure.
Shahid Afridi further said that Naseem Shah gave good support, Pakistan is back in the match.
It should be noted that in response to Sri Lanka’s first innings of 222 runs, the Pakistani team was bowled out for 218 runs on the second day of play, captain Babar Azam’s brilliant century brought the team back into the Test.
At one point, 9 players of Pakistan were out for 148 runs, but Babar Azam along with Naseem Shah formed a partnership of 70 runs for the last wicket and Pakistan managed to score 218 runs. Babar Azam was dismissed for 119 runs while Naseem Shah scored 5 runs off 52 balls and remained not out.
Remember that Sri Lanka were bowled out for 222 runs in their first innings, Shaheen Afridi got 4 wickets while Hasan Ali and Yasir Shah got 2 wickets each.
