The 69th birthday of Benazir Bhutto, the first woman Prime Minister of the Muslim world

The 69th birthday of martyred PPP chairperson and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto is being celebrated today.

Former PPP chairperson and twice elected former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto was born on June 21, 1953 in Karachi.

After graduating from Red Cliff College and Harvard University, he graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Political Science, Economics and Philosophy.

After the overthrow of her father Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s government and the imposition of martial law, Benazir Bhutto continued her democratic struggle while living abroad. When she returned home in April 1986, she was given a warm welcome.

Benazir Bhutto’s son and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said in a message that Benazir Bhutto fought for 30 years for restoration of democracy, economic freedom of the poor and peaceful message of Islam.

Bilawal said that terrorists, dictators and cowards killed Benazir Bhutto but she is alive in the hearts and minds of the people of her country and the world.
