The arrest of Imran Riaz in Attock does not fall under the jurisdiction of this court, Chief Justice

The contempt of court petition against the arrest of journalist Imran Riaz was disposed of by the Islamabad High Court. The Chief Justice said that the arrest of Imran Riaz in Attock did not fall under the jurisdiction of this court.

The Chief Justice said that every court has its own jurisdiction, Lahore High Court can look into the matter, the arrest of Imran Riaz in Attock does not become the jurisdiction of this court, this court cannot investigate Punjab, from Islamabad. There was talk of arrest, arrest was made outside our jurisdiction, Imran Riaz was not arrested by Islamabad police but by Punjab, we are not giving any observation in the case.

The Lahore High Court said that if an arrest was made from Islamabad, he would bring the order. The lawyer said that the police was saying that the arrest was made from Punjab, we are saying that it was made from Islamabad. To approach the Lahore High Court.
