The Election Commission of Punjab directed the Prime Minister to stop the inauguration of Kahuta Dam in view of violation of the Electoral Code of Conduct.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s schedule also included the inauguration of the dam to be set up in Kahuta on June 29, but now the Prime Minister has canceled the program after the Election Commission took up the matter and issued a notice.
A statement issued by the Election Commission said that Kahuta Dam is included in PP-7 provincial constituency of Rawalpindi. In view of by-elections, the Prime Minister cannot inaugurate any program.
