The federal cabinet has approved a 15 percent increase in the salaries of government employees.
Before the budget meeting, a meeting of the federal cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. In which the federal cabinet approved 5% increase in pension.
According to sources, increasing the salaries of employees will put a burden of Rs 71.59 billion on the exchequer.
According to sources, the cabinet was briefed that Rs 71.59 billion would be required for a 15 per cent increase in salaries and Rs 95.45 billion would be required for a 20 per cent increase in salaries.
A 110 per cent increase in salaries would require Rs 47.72 million, while the federal cabinet recommended a 15 per cent increase in the salaries of government employees.
The federal cabinet has approved the budget for the financial year 2013-14.
It should be noted that a meeting of the Federal Cabinet was held before the budget meeting of the new financial year 23-2022 in which the details of the budget were under discussion. Federal Finance Minister Muftah Ismail will present the budget in the National Assembly this evening.
