The federal cabinet has constituted a committee for treason case against the PTI leadership

The federal cabinet termed the Supreme Court’s decision on the no-confidence motion as historic and formed a committee to file a treason case against the PTI leadership.

A meeting of the Federal Cabinet was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister. When Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif arrived at the meeting, he shook hands with all the ministers one by one.

The cabinet members congratulated on the successful negotiations with the IMF, then Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif asked them to make this the last agreement with the IMF.

The meeting discussed the decision of the Supreme Court in the Deputy Speaker Rolling case. All members of the federal cabinet, including the coalition parties, unanimously praised the decision, calling it historic. Cabinet members said that the decision of the Supreme Court would establish the supremacy of the Constitution.

In a media briefing after the cabinet meeting, Federal Minister for Information Maryam Aurangzeb said that the federal cabinet welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court and passed a resolution in this regard. A special cabinet committee has been constituted to look into the matter.

He said that the special committee headed by Law Minister Nazir Tarar would include representatives of Home Minister, Information Minister, Federal Ministers and all allied parties and would present its proposals at the next cabinet meeting.

He said that a resolution was passed in the cabinet meeting in which it was said that this bloodbath on constitution, democracy, parliament and people’s right to rule should be stopped forever. The committee would propose measures in the light of the court decision. ۔

In response to a question on who will be prosecuted under Article 6, Maryam Aurangzeb said that the court decision is clear in which the names are mentioned that the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, President, Prime Minister humiliated the constitutional positions, the Cabinet. Has decided that the committee will make a proposal to end this unconstitutional violation and the cabinet will approve it.
