The forest fires in Sherani were largely contained

The forest department said that the fire in Sherani forest has been brought under control to a large extent.

Efforts are underway to control the forest fire in Sherani district of Balochistan. Fifteen 1122 personnel from Pakhtunkhwa are also taking part in the firefighting operation.

Forest Department Conservator Amin Mengal said that the forest fire line is under complete control, the fire has been stopped at Zarghoon Zor in Suleiman Range and a 9 km fire line has been set up at Zarghoon Zor in Sherani to extinguish the fire. ۔

He said that two helicopters of Pakistan Army were taking part in the firefighting operation while today a firefighter plane from Iran is also likely to reach Sherani.

The Conservative Forest Department said that smoke was rising from the embers after a fire broke out in some places in the forest.

He added that once the fire is completely extinguished, the damage to trees and wildlife in the forest will be assessed for which teams will be formed.
