The Lahore High Court stopped the police from entering the Punjab Assembly

The Lahore High Court barred the police from entering the assembly on the request of Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari against calling the police in the assembly session for the election of the Chief Minister.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member Punjab Assembly Sabtain Khan filed a petition in the Lahore High Court against calling the police in the assembly, which was heard by Justice Muzamil Akhtar Shabbir.

IG Punjab, Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly, Secretary Punjab Assembly and others were made parties in the petition.

During the hearing, the court inquired that if the situation inside the assembly is bad, then the police should go inside when summoned.

The petitioner’s counsel requested the court not to allow the police to enter the assembly.

The petitioner’s lawyer said that the Deputy Speaker has said that I have been attacked, so police should be sent to the assembly, so they have a plan to attack the assembly, so police should not be allowed to enter the assembly.

The lawyer said that in the light of the orders of the Supreme Court, the election of the Chief Minister of Punjab should be conducted, however, Additional Advocate General Punjab was also present in the court.

It should be noted that the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari, had issued a notification to deploy police in the Punjab Assembly in view of security.

Dost Mohammad Mazari had said in the notification that ‘today I am presiding over the second proceedings for the Chief Minister of Punjab in the Punjab Assembly, in which some elements are trying to stop the proceedings of the assembly and prevent me from conducting the proceedings. can, as a result of which they can disrupt the election of the Chief Minister of Punjab.

He had said in the notification that such a violent act can endanger not only my life but also the life of other innocent members of the Assembly, so for all these reasons I request that a police force be deployed in the Assembly during the proceedings. Go so that all the proceedings can be completed constitutionally.

It should be noted that the Chief Minister of Punjab is going to be elected today with great political heat in the Punjab Assembly, in which Hamza Shahbaz and Parvez Elahi are facing each other.

After some time in the Punjab Assembly, a sensational contest is expected between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s son Hamza Shehbaz and former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s nominee Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for the post of Chief Minister, for which the members of the Assembly have reached.

The results of today’s election will determine the direction of the country’s future politics, due to its extraordinary importance, the series of manipulation attempts by political rivals over the past few days continued until last night, when the Chief Minister’s election was held. I had just 12 hours left.

Political observers believe that if the opposition alliance (PTI and Muslim League-Q) succeeds in getting their joint candidate elected as the Chief Minister of the largest province of Pakistan today in the Punjab Assembly, then its effects will definitely affect the Federation. I will also fall on the coalition government.

Before the important election today, former Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over a meeting of the PTI and Muslim League (Q) parliamentary party in which 186 members of the provincial assembly participated.
