With the hope of launching a commercial operation on the first of the 7 routes of the People’s Bus Service Project, the Sindh government has started a trial trial of buses imported from China which have successfully covered a distance of 29 km without any hindrance. ۔

Provincial Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon along with fellow cabinet members Saeed Ghani and Waqar Mehdi started the journey from Model Colony of Shara Faisal to start the test of People’s Bus Service and after an hour’s journey near Awari Tower. The journey ended.

After the visit, Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon while talking to media persons said that Sindh government intends to run 240 buses on 7 different routes of Karachi under People’s Bus Service project and this is the beginning of test of this project.

He said that out of 250 buses imported from China, 140 have arrived and the rest are likely to arrive soon.

Sharjeel Memon said that out of 250 buses, 240 will be operated in Karachi while 10 buses will be operated in Larkana.
