The winners of the men’s and women’s singles will earn Rs 50.50 crore. This is 11% more than last year and 5.6% more than the Wimbledon prize money paid in pre-Corona conditions in 2019.
The total prize money for Wimbledon is set at Rs 10 billion. The player who has already been eliminated from the event after losing in the first round will also be able to earn Rs 12.5 million. The loser in the final will get Rs 250 million.
The ranking system for this Grand Slam tournament to be played in London has been abolished. The decision came after the UK banned Russian and Belarusian players from attending any event in the UK. Britain has banned Russian and Belarusian players from attacking Ukraine.
