Due to rising political tensions in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh has once again started preparations to host the Asia Cup cricket tournament.
The final decision on the transfer of the event from Sri Lanka to Bangladesh will be made by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) at the end of this month, with the tournament scheduled for August.
Indian media reports claim that the current situation in Sri Lanka has put the hosting of the Asia Cup in jeopardy, while Bangladesh has been asked to be ready as an alternative.
On the other hand, the national team is in Sri Lanka for a two-Test series. The first match of the series between the two teams is scheduled for July 16 in Galle.
