Why did Shahid Afridi forbid Shaheen from captaining Lahore Qalandars?

National team fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has given reasons for opposing the representation of Lahore Qalandars in the PSL by his future father-in-law Shahid Afridi.

“After getting the captaincy at a young age, it was very difficult for people to accept it. Many people said it would affect my bowling,” said Shaheen Afridi.

“I tried to focus more on bowling, thanks to the Lahore Qalandars who trusted me so much,” Shaheen said.

The host of the show asked the cricketer, “Did your father-in-law Shahid Afridi forbid you from captaining the Lahore Qalandars?”

In reply, Shaheen said, “He forbade me to let my bowling go bad because the pressure of captaincy is very high at a young age. Obviously, he has captained and he knows that.”

How do you handle pressure?

In response to this question, Shaheen said that as a captain, when a bowler was hit, I would try to keep the atmosphere light, so I would go and hug him, encourage him, say what happened. It’s time to dump her and move on.

Is there still politics and factionalism in the national team?

“Praise be to God, there is no such thing now, we play together, we have to play for Pakistan, at the moment all the players in the team are young, everyone supports each other and enjoys cricket,” the fast bowler said.
